The purpose of the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is to revitalize and redevelop the downtown business district of Douglasville. Through the hard work and dedication of volunteers, elected officials, and satellite organizations, the DDA strives to make downtown Douglasville a community gathering place and the heart of our city.

Design Committee
The Design Committee enhances the attractiveness of downtown Douglasville. The committee fosters historic building rehabilitation, street and alley clean-up, colorful banners, landscaping, and lighting thus improving the physical image of the downtown as a quality place to shop, work, walk, invest in, and live. The Design Committee has recently published a cookbook entitled, Classic Recipes from Under the Chestnut Tree. Proceeds from the cookbook will fund an extreme makeover building facade contest. The winner of the contest will receive design assistance to renovate the facade of their downtown building. Click here to buy a cookbook.
Economic Restructuring Committe
The Economic Restructuring Committee analyzes current market forces to develop long-term solutions for downtown revitalization. The committee is responsible for recruiting new businesses, creatively converting unused space for new ones and sharpening the competiveness of the downtown merchants. The Economic Restructuring Committee also hosts educational seminars and training sessions. Click here for a list of upcoming educational events.
Organization Committee
The Organization Committee manages key elements of the Main Street Program. The committee is responsible for fundraising, volunteer recruitment, and strategic planning. The Organization Committee invites you to become a "Friend of Main Street," a non-profit membership organization devoted to the revitalization of downtown Douglasville. Members include individuals, families, and businesses.
Promotions Committee
The Promotions Committee creates excitement downtown. Street festivities, retail events and image development campaigns are some of the ways the committee encourages downtown development. Promotion involves marketing an enticing image to shoppers, investors, and visitors, as well as positioning downtown Douglasville in the market place. Click here for a list of upcoming events.
